About Therapy

Therapy is a deeply personal process.

We’ll start by building a connection and investing time in getting to know each other.

Like any first meeting, it can be awkward, but we’ll get through it together.

You’ll soon be diving into challenging topics, knowing that therapy is a trusted space.

Meeting virtually allows you to meet anywhere you feel comfortable, providing absolute convenience. Working virtually also means you might jump from one task at work or in your home life into your therapy session.

Before we start, I will give you a moment to transition and arrive by connecting your mind and body. This transition might look like a guided breath practice or mindful movement. Taking time to breathe provides a brief practice that allows you to recenter yourself and focus on the gift you give yourself – dedicated, focused attention on you.

Therapy is the time for exploration.

Through therapy, you can explore your past and present and determine who you want to become.

Therapy provides a judgment-free zone, and believe me, as a therapist, we’ve heard it all. Even if you feel things are going well and have nothing to discuss, our interactions as we meet together still help you sustain those good feelings that you have.

About Me

AdminTherapy helps us overcome struggles.

Becoming a therapist was not something I dreamed about as a kid because it wasn’t something I had any experience with until later in life.

Therapy seemed secretive and only required if you needed “fixing.” I silently struggled with feelings of inadequacy, intrusive thoughts, and fear. Now, I know that the anxiety I experienced throughout my life could have benefitted from having a caring professional help me explore and manage how I felt.

I am grateful to have therapy consistently in my schedule to help support my evolution as a human. I needed it when I got married and was fearful of losing my identity. I needed it when my dad was diagnosed with cancer because not one person gets diagnosed – the whole family does.

As a mom, I need therapy because raising children is certainly a rollercoaster ride. I especially need it as I grieve the loss of my dad, the worst moment of my life so far.

My therapeutic background is diverse.

I became a social worker because I believe in the life-changing power of connection and self-awareness. As an undergrad at Loyola University New Orleans, I became attracted to Psychology as a major because it focused on why we do what we do.

In graduate school at Tulane University, I majored in Social Work and Public Health, emphasizing the systems that impact our lives and the context in which we have developed.

As I began working closely with people, I was drawn to a balanced yoga and meditation practice to support my mental, physical, and emotional needs. Later, when I moved to Austin, I received formal yoga teacher training to learn more about these practices and to provide clients with valuable resources that link the brain and body.

I have always been curious about the human experience and how we find happiness and connect. Through compassion, empathy, and curiosity, I hope to help you develop a positive relationship with yourself and, in turn, a positive relationship with the world around you.

When I’m not working…

I’m chasing around a toddler, exploring the natural scenery in central Texas, and eating my way through Austin one taco at a time.
